I am an American artist of Kurdish and Azari heritage, born in Tehran and based in California since 1983. My large-scale abstract paintings explore the emotional architecture of memory, survival, and transformation. Drawing from the trauma of living through the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and the complexity of diasporic identity, my work moves between rupture and ritual, silence and structure.

I paint intuitively, with urgency and emotion. The canvas becomes a site of tension—color as memory, form as fracture. Each piece is wrapped in 23k gold leaf, a sacred act. The gold is not ornamental; it consecrates the work as a living object. A relic. A witness.

My paintings are not about grief. They are built by it. They carry the echoes of what has been lost—and the beauty of what remains and the freedom of American individuality. I speak in language of dreams, and invite you into stillness, reflection, and return. What you discover in my work is as essential as what I intended. An unspoken conversation where image and perception open a field revealing a shared essence amid a fractured world.
